McCarthy saw many important benefits in preserving the Bagley property, and brought the easement request before the board.
“This was really a slam dunk for lack of a better term,” McCarthy said.
The Board of Supervisors approved the agreement in November and it was finalized a month later.
The county will bear no financial responsibility for monitoring the property, McCarthy said.
PEC had petitioned the county to help with a number of properties, McCarthy said, but he thought the Bagleyland was the most attractive and turned down all the others.
