The prospect of working in the historic Capitol so awed me that I asked my parents to come down to watch me being sworn in for the first time in the actual House chamber. After they found a place to park (which is no small task in downtown Richmond) they came and sat in the gallery as I took my oath of office for the second time. Opening day is typically a light legislative day so I toured my folks around the Capitol. Many photos were snapped with their new digital camera as I showed off the many symbols of the magnificent history of our Commonwealth.
