Driving suspended
James Randall Lewis was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license Friday. Lt. Roger Jenkins arrested the 28-year-old Sperryville man around 9:30 a.m. while he was driving on Zachary Taylor Highway north of Flint Hill.
Self-inflicted wound
A 64-year-old man was accidentally shot in the arm by his own gun Saturday afternoon while he was squirrel hunting with two friends in Amissville.
According to Maj. Scott Jenkins, the man stopped to take a break, set his rifle on the ground and was resting his arm on the muzzle when the gun fired through his forearm. The bullet went through the man’s arm without, hitting a bone or an artery, Jenkins said. The man was taken to the Culpeper Emergency Room for treatment and was released the same day.
‘Sprayed by bullets*
A man was hit by two rabbit hunters’ stray pellets Saturday afternoon in Amissville. The victim was taking Christmas decorations ofThis roof when, according to the sheriff’s report, he was “sprayed by bullets. ”
The victim did not report any major injuries and chose not to press charges against the hunters, who were on a neighboring property at the time.
