So how do local consumers find out about local food producers? I believe a fair designed to connect the two groups would be a great place to start.
I know that there are farmers markets now that perform that function on Saturdays during the growing season. But I’m suggesting something different. Let’s face it, a lot of local food producers are too busy producing the food to commit to every week at the farmers market.
But if there was a once a year show, in the winter months when it’s a little quieter for farmers, I think you could create a good turn out on both sides.
