Otherwise, the Sheriff and his deputies are enjoined from policing or patrolling businesses and residences unless a complaint has been received that a crime has been committed or is about to be committed at such location, according to Davis.
In regard to Sheriff Buntin's current claim before the Board. Davis said “1 doubt very seriously if it will be reimbursed by the state” and predicted that payment would have to come entirely out of the county’s general fund. If the Supervisors authorize payment of the Sheriffs Department claim, “there’s nothing else I can do but go on and proceed under the statutes,” said Davis.
