Very soon I rode np to • bunch of cattle all fenced in within 20 feet of the guard. I got down off my horse, let the fence down with all the ease I could, then got back on my horse and rode into the pen with the cattle. With my eye on the guard all the time, I started kicking with my feet and my horse biting the cattle. I soon get them out and drove them way into the woods. After a very tedious drive I got them about l1/* miles away in the mountains with the snow still falling.
