presently known as High Meadow. This is located on Route 647, also; and Oak Shade, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Leibold west of Amissville on Route 643.
The Amiss family for whom the village is named built Oak Shade and a descendent of the Amiss family, Mrs. Frank Walter, owned it until 1970. At that time Peter Kramer bought the house and added the west wing. The Leibolds purchased the property in 1973 and have completed the restoration and have furnished it with early American pieces:
