Park Visits Drop
September visits to Shenandoah National Park decreased from 282,900 in 1976 to 270,600 in 1977, a drop of 4.3 per cent, according to a release from Park Superintendent Robert Jacobsen.
To date, visits for Calendar Year 1977 compared with Calendar Year 1976 increased 16.5 per cent.
At the Big Meadows weather station, the maximum temperature for September was 84 degrees and the minimum was 43 degrees. Precipitation for the month was 3.94 inches.
