At its next meeting (Wednesday, Oct. 19) the new, 7th grade Cadette Girl Scout Troop will give the Brownies a party celebrating Halloween and the birthday of Juliette Low, the founder of Girl Scouting in the United States.
The Brownie and Girl Scout troops are meeting at the elementary school on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. The meetings begin immediately after school and last until 5 p.m.
October is registration month, and girls who were in scouting last year, as well as all new scouts, must register by paying $2 and filling out a form.
At their first meeting this month the Brownies made paper bag puppets while the Juniors started electing officers, organizing patrols and deciding what badges to work for. The Cadettes, who moved up from Juniors last year, went to Winchester to buy their new uniforms. ! The Rappahannock Girl ‘ Scouts now have the leaders and welcome more scouts.
