Like a grieving widow insisting that her late husband’s room be preserved “as it was,” there are those in the state who would like to see Virginia preserved as it was when Robert E. Lee passed away.
It’s too bad the campaign has taken this turn, because John Dalton, no less than Henry Howell, has some fine ideas for constructive change.
His efforts to win the governorship would be far better served if his friends' would quiet down a little and give John a chance to re-enter the campaign on his own and tell the people about them.
