Rev. Ronald Wiley, president of Rappahannock Citizens for Better Education, commented that the School Board member’s decision to interview all applicants for the principal’s job themselves was “truly unusual.”
Mrs. Massie responded that it was the new policy of the Rappahannock School Board to have Board members personally interview all applicants for administrative positions.
Wiley repeated that the practice was unusual and time consuming, particularly when the Board had a qualified Superintendent for the task of screening applicants and bringing recommendations for hiring
