George Lee Taylor, 80, of Culpeper died October 6, 1977 at his residence. He was a native of Rappahannock, a retired orchardist and farmer, of Sperryville. He was the son of the late Robert Lee Taylor and Ida Monroe Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a member of Washington Masonic Lodge No. 78 AF & AM for more than fifty years and served in the 2nd Virginia Infantry during World War I.
He is survived by his widow, Martha Yates Taylor of Culpeper; a son, John Lee Taylor of Arlington and a brother, Walter E. Taylor of Madison.
A graveside service, conducted by the Rev. John Farrar, was held Saturday in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper.
