In a second insurance related matter, the Supervisors authorized payment of an emergency room bill for Deputy Ronnie Hawkins.
At the same time, Col. Luke stressed that this did not establish a precedent and “put everybody on notice that the county won’t foot any more bills.”
According to a request for payment of $50 submitted with the monthly accounts, Hawkins sustained an injury to his knee while on duty at the Amissville Firemen’s carnival. Emergency room treatment included x-rays and examination by a doctor.
