“I am studying the legal history of federal acquisition of these lands after the state had assembled them by purchase from the private owners, largely by condemnation, in the hope that a basis can be laid for a change in the Department of the Interior ruling that the acreage is not eligible for inclusion in the lands on which payments are being made to counties,” Robinson said in a statement from his Congressional office.
In addition, the 7th District Representative said he had introduced in the House a bill to amend the federal law on the matter, "in case this proves the only means of correcting injustice.”
