During a public hearing last Wednesday on Ian Pryde’s rezoning for his Blue Rock Farm subdivision, the Rappahannock Planners listened to a plea from Dr. Carroll Quaintance that they approve development proposals “only to the extent that the law requires.” Bowing to state statutes, the Planners voted unanimously to approve Pryde’s rezoning request for six large lots fronting on Route 211 between Washington and Sperryville from conservation and agriculture to residential subdivision.
“It is now my understanding that under the laws of Virginia, we must grant a rezoning if the landowner is willing to comply with the provisions of the subdivision ordinance,’’ Planner Newbill Miller told
