The Rappahannock Planners decided at their meeting last Wednesday to forget about hiring an “expensive professional planner’’ and instead stick with the less expensive services of Planning District 9 executive director John Capelle in developing the comprehensive plan mandated for adoption by July 1, 1980. The Planners authorized chairman Herbert Barksdale to write a letter to the Board of Supervisors, formally asking approval for Capelle to begin work. Amissville Ruritan Club and other citizens of the Amissville-Viewtown area have joined efforts and are offering a $1000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the alleged rapist who attacked a young woman on July 26.
If anyone wishes to make a contribution, it will be added to the amount already offered, according to T. C. Barron, president of the local club.
