Certificates may be issued to civilian and military personnel who meet the following requirements:
An applicant must be at least 19 years of age. Under special circumstances which are considered, justifiable by local school authorities, the age limit may be lowered.
Applicants must have been a physical resident of Virginia thirty days prior to applying for testing.
A fee of $7.50 is charged for the battery of five tests and $1.50 for each re-test, applicants who apply must present their Social Security Card when an application is made for GED.
