It is interesting to note that advertisement of the hearing was delivered to the Rappahannock News at 10 a. m. the morning of the Commission meeting, preceeding the open meeting vote by approximately 11 hours. Reportedly, the Planners met and discussed the proposed amendments at a specially called meeting held Monday. August 14.
School Starts
Rappahannock public schools will let out at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 28, the first day of the 1978-1979 term.
Parents are reminded that school fees can be paid at the elementary scIhhiI on Friday. August 25, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Fees for kindergarten through seventh grade will be $12 with special education fees set at $8.50. Charges do not include workbi>oks which will be available for purchase as needed.
Teachers will also be in their classrooms on Friday to meet students and parents and classroom assignments will be posted.
