A forecast of a nationwide surplus of veterinarians shouldn't stop plans for the new regional college of veterinary medicine in Virginia.
Virginia Farm Bureau Federation president Robert B. Delano, who is national vice president for the American Farm Bureau Federation, said plans for the college “are in line with most of the recommendations" attached to a survey conducted for the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).
The survey, by Arthur D. Little Inc. Cambridge, Mass., predicted a surplus of 8,300 veterinarians in the United States by 1990.
