In the remaining two districts. Northern Virginia's Eighth and 10th, the Republicans have high hopes of recovering at least one seat. Both were lost in the post-Watergate elections of 1974. Fisher of the 10th defeated 11-term Rep. Joel Broyhill and Harris of the Eighth ousted freshman Rep. Stanford Parris.
This year, Fisher is opposed by Frank R. Wolf, a Falls Church attorney. Wolf is making his second bid for public office, having run for congress in the Republican primary in 1976. He was defeated by Del. Vincent F. Callahan who was, in turn, defeated by the incumbent Fisher in the general election.
Nevertheless, the race in the 10th is considered extremely close, with spokesmen for each candidate insisting his man is "in good shape.”
Harrii In Danger
The Democratic seat in the Eighth District is in by far the greatest danger. Democrat Herb Harris is being challenged by Republican John F. (Jack) Herrity of Springfield, chairman of the Fairfax Board of Supervisors.
Herrity has been on the board for seven years and its chairman for three.
