Telephone Company customers who do not recognize a long distance phone number on their monthly bill should contact the telephone company business office.
In recent months, because of a “misunderstanding,” some calls made by repairmen to the C & P office in Leesburg have been charged to customers’ phone bills. Bill E. Brown, manager of the C & P business office in Culpeper, said that some repairmen believed that calls to their office or other offices of the phone company were toll free.
However, the calls were charged to the customers phone number. “We recently brought this to their (the repairmen’s) attention,” Brown said, “and the men will now call collect when reporting in to the office or checking a line.”
