The Rappahannock Senior Citizen Council also adopted three resolutions for the September 9 constitutional convention to be held in Richmond calling for:
1) closer working relationships with organized farmers;
2) conservation of energy and acceleration of research programs on alternate energy sources;
3) protection of the state's natural beauty and an end to pollution of Virginia’s waters and air.
Finally, the Council went on record in favor of "lifeline utility rates" for senior citizens in Virginia.
