The Lions of Virginia Foundation was recommended for its prompt and generous support of money, clothing, and building materials sent to flood victims in Southwest Virginia . and for other humanitarian relief activities throughout the state. The Rappahannock club has a long record of support to both organizations.
A memorial service honored all former Lions of Northern Virginia who had died during the year, including Oliver Carver, who passed away this summer.
The Fal^ Conference was attended by representatives of the 77 Lions clubs comprising District 24-A, Governor Bill Smith presiding. In addition to Butten and Ingle, the Rappahannock delegation Included President Howdy Holschuh and First Vice President John Schultz.
