Silent Auction
A Silent Auction will be held at the Extension Homemakers’ Achievement Night, Monday, November 13, 7:30 p.m. in the Flint Hill fire hall. The Silent Auction is always an interesting part of Achievement Night and is filled with’ a great variety of attic treasures, baked goods, plants and hand crafted items. This is the Extension Homemakers’ main means of raising money which is used for various projects. These projects include serving tea at Baccalaureate, giving a scholarship to a graduating senior, baking and serving at the 4-H Chicken BBQ, sponsoring educational programs along with projects in their own communities of Amissville, Chester Gap, Flint Hill and Woodville. Royalties derived from their cookbook sales are used to finance the Maude Wallace Scholarship Fund.
Achievement Night is the annual meeting for the four Clubs. Along with the auction, educational exhibits will be judged and the club of the year award and reading certificates will be presented. Placemats and pictures of the Bicentennial needlepoint tapestry will be on sale.
The program topic for the evening will be “A Travelog” presented by Ms. Margaret Muter of Flint Hill.

Miss Kimberly Sue Jenkins was honored on her second birthday with a party given by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Jenkins of Sperryville. Guests included Mrs. Claudia Jenkins, Otis Hawkins, Mrs. Mary Harris and Michael Lynn, Mrs. Mary Place, Richie, Gary and Theresa all of Woodville.
Others attending were Mrs. Jimmie Dodson, Ronnie and Sammy and Mrs. Brenda Jenkins all of Sperryville.
