After paper is loosened it can be peeled off. Stubborn patches may have to be retreated. Then patch cracks, fill holes and sand the wall smooth. The final step before applying paint is to wash the wall with detergent or soap suds to remove anv dirt and paste residue. Rinse and let dry thoroughly.
Worth the time and effort, these procedures will help insure a longer-lasting and more attractive paint job.

Cheese Stuffed Pears

1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese softened
1 tablespoon milk or cream
'■4 teaspoon almond extract. or to taste.
cup chopped raisins
2 medium size pears, peeled, halved Ac cored.
2 tablespoons slivered toasted almonds or chopped nuts.
In small bowl of mixer beat cheese, milk and extract until well blended and fluffy. Stir in raisins. Using ice cream scoop or 2 spoons, shape mixture in 4 balls; place on cut side of pear halves. Sprinkle with almonds: serve at once. Serves 4.
