In approving the project to go out for bids, the Supervisors stipulated that the exterior wall of the incinerator be built of brick that matches the court house and clerk’s office and that the incinerator conform to standards set in the state code. Luke added that he’d checked with the local Air Pollution Board and received an okay for the county to install an incinerator.
In other action, the Supervisors approved:
— rezoning from agriculture and conservation to residential subdivision for seven large lots on Ian Pryde’s Blue Rock Farm subdivision.
—creation of the Rappahannock County Recreational Facilities Authority, naming Doug Baumgardher, Jean Lillard, Granville Eastham, Mary Schumaker, Ed Bailey, Ed Manookian and Diane Bruce to the Authority Board. —payment of $495 (of which $195 is reimbursable) for rental of a trailer to serve as the polling site in Woodville. —reappointment of Mrs. Aline Johnson of Sperryville to a four year term on the Welfare Board. —contracting for maintenance work on the county's copying machine at $250 per year.
