Biological

Farmers

The fall meeting of the Virginia Association of Biological Farmers will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, at Hawthorn Farm, the home of Sharon and Sean Kilpatrick.

The day will begin with a bartering, selling and socializing hour from 9 to 10 a.m.

The meeting will start at 10 a.m. with reports on conferences that members have attended in the U. S. and Canada. Miriam Harris of Huntly will demonstrate building a bio-dynamic compost pile.

After a shared lunch, the meeting will break up into interest groups to share information on livestock, orchards, and gardening.

Anyone interested in learning about organic farming and gardening methods is welcome to come. Bring something to eat, something to drink and something to sit on.

For further information or directions, call Sharon Kilpatrick at 987-8252.
