Bloomer

To Oversee

Dr. William J. Bloomer, Superintendent of Rappahannock County Schools, will supervise rockers in a rock-a-thon to benefit the March of Dimes, sponsored bv the Future Business Leaders of America club from Piedmont Technical Education Center.

Twenty rockers have already signed up for the long rock that begins at 5 p.m. on Friday, December 1, and continues through December 2 at the American Legion Hall in Culpeper.

All residents who can’t sit down and rock can help by pledging money for each hour a rocker sways. Participants will be rocking for the 200,000 children born each year with physical and mental damage.

The March of Dimes supports research, medical service and professional and public health education programs, aiming for a day when all children can be born whole and healthy.

The money raised from the rock-a-thon will be used to help prevent birth defects in this area.

For additional information on how to become involved in the benefit rock, either as a rocker or by pledging money in support, contact Freida Matheney at 825-0476 after
