George Davis replied that that tactic had been tried at the former Sperryville dumpster site with no success. "People just threw it over the fence. Trash was piled up on the ground as high as the dumpsters," Davis recalled.

Luke later reported that new dumpster sites were needed in Amissville, Huntly and the F.T. Valley area. Formerly, the F.T. Valley was served by trash containers located at the H and J Grocery on Route 231. However, said Luke, the property owners requested that the dumpster be moved after citizens repeatedly left piles of trash on the ground. He added that more space, in addition to the new site on old Route 211, was needed in Hampton District.
Luke said that he has already found several locations—all on Highway Department rights-of-way. “We have problems because some of these locations are grown up with bushes and trees,” he added.
