report from Dr. William Young held that Hall was “quite stable.” After examining Hall, Young wrote in a letted to the court that he saw no evidence of imminent violence and felt that Hall’s return to society carried “no predictable danger.”

Albrecht suggested that payment of Lewis’ medical bills and follow-up care for Hall at the Rappahannock Mental Health Clinic be made conditions of probation.

Noting that Hall had no definite offer of work and no definite living arrangements, Snead said he would be reluctant to release the defendant in view of his drug and alcohol problem. After Albrecht said he could have a work and home plan prepared within a week, Snead delayed sentencing until July 25.

In other action, a jury trial for Robert Clarence Martin, Remington, charged with attempted statutory burglary, has been set for Friday, August 24 at 10 a.m.

The trial of David Payton Thompson, accused of armed robbery in the hold-up of Mr. Jefferson’s Store in Sperryville, was continued until psychiatric examinations being conducted at South Western State are completed. Thompson also faces murder charges in Culpeper and Orange counties arising from_ a series of small grocery store hold-ups.

On the civil docket, a hearing on the case of the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry versus Cloven Mills, Inc., of Washington, has been set for October 10 at 9 a.m.
