until a new location is found. Chairman E. P. Luke reported that he and Latham had met with Highway Department representatives in an effort to secure the storage yard in Amissville as a dumpster site. Luke added that he expected final word on negotiations within the near future.
In a related matter, Luke announced after the Supervisors returned from executive session that the trash contract for the county dumpsters would be advertised for bids on July 12.
The 1978-79 contract with Community Trash stipulated that the county would pay $32,616 (plus added costs for any additional dumpsters) to cover trash pick-up from the green boxes located in Amissville, Scrabble, Castleton. Huntly and Chester Gap. In addition. Community Trash charged $5 per cubic yard for refuse cleaned up off the ground around the dumpster sites. Costs for ground trash pickup totalled $12,340 for fiscal year 1978-79.
