Settle of Amissville strayed onto the adjoining Wayland property. "Dogs were put after it to chase it away from the garden,” said Bruce, adding that the hog had been killed on the Wayland property. "What happened to the dogs?” asked Supervisor Chairman E. P. Luke. "They're still there." the Dog Warden answered. “This is a judge’s case. It s not for us to decide (whether the county should pay for the destroyed stock),” stated Supervisor Clarence Baldwin.

Bruce reported that he’d been called to investigate a calf allegedly killed by dogs near Boston on June 8. Before the owners called, however, they buried the call. Bruce said. “They told me there was not a scratch on the calf so 1 didn’t dig it up.” he explained. Bruce said the calf was supposedly chased by dogs heard barking during the night and was found dead. The Supervisors requested Bruce to bring the livestock owner to tell his story before they acted on the claim.
