As an off-shoot of the Rappahannock Athletic Association’s fall soccer program, the Old Hollow Grocery near Sperryville will sponsor a team to join the soccer league in Warrenton.
Try-outs will be held at the Athletic Association’s practice and games this Saturday, September 29, at the elementary school. Team membership is open to players 13 years and older,
4-H Night
Planned
In observance of National 4-H Week, October 7-13, Rappahannock clubs will host a 4-H night at the elementary school on Monday, October 8, at 7:30 p.m.
County clubs will have exhibits set up, demonstrating the projects completed during the past year. Leaders and members will be on hand to talk about 4-H with youngsters interested in joining.
In addition, there will be an awards ceremony honoring 4-H’ers who participated during the past year for their achievements, installed.
Rappahannock 4-H leaders are Jane Narramore for Horse and Pony, Elsie Gheen for Amissville Clover Club, Maybelle Gilkey and Mary Hickerson for Chester Gap Club, David Thornhill and Randall Updike for Livestock and extension agent Nancy Secrist for Home Economics.
