Visits Set
Free assistance for local veterans and their families will be available from the Field Service Unit of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) scheduled to visit the area in early October.
The DAV unit will be located at the Ward Plaza Shopping Center in Winchester on October 8, the Manassas Mall in Manassas on October 9 and Southgate Shopping Center in Culpeper on October 10.
A benefits expert at the unit will assist veterans and their families in filing claims for such federal and state benefits as disability compensation, pension, employment and job training programs, educational benefits, hospitalization and medical care, Social Security, death claims and more.
Veterans need not be members of DAV to take advantage of this free service. The units will be open at the locations in Winchester, Manassas and Culpeper from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
