Mrs. Maury W. Brown, of the F. T. Valley, has just returned to her home on Saturday, following a 2-weeks vacation with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Donald R. Williams, of Ashland, Virginia. Mrs. Brown and her three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Williams, Mrs. Phyllis Shirey, and Mrs. Jean Konek entertained friends, neighbors and co-workers on the lawn of Mrs. Shirey on September 15, 1979, at a “Country Hoedown” with live music by Don Williams and friends on guitar, dobrow, mandolin, autoharp and banjo. All the invited guests, totaling 48, are eagerly awaiting a repeat performance next year at the South of the James scene. Mr. & Mrs. Williams spem the weekend with Mrs. Brown, following a stop in Fredericksburg to visit Mrs. Brown’s sisters who are hospitalized at the Mary Washington Hospital.
