Funeral services for Hugh Mercer Kilby were held Wednesday at the Nazareth Baptist Church in Boston, conducted by the Rev. R.L. Banks. Burial was in the family section of the church cemetery.
Mr. Kilby died in McGuire Hospital, Richmond on Friday, March 28, 1980. He was a native of Madison County and was a farmer.
His survivors include three brothers, Otis Kilby and Otha Kilby, both of Haywood and Walter Kilby of Madison; four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Frye of Liecester, N.Y., Mrs. Fannie Slaughter of Calverton, Mrs. Bertha Frye of Sperryville and Mrs. Jennie Dade of Banco.
