If an in-school suspension program is instituted, “I guarantee we'll have a full population in the jail house,” he continued. He added that such a program would pose a tremendous temptation to teachers who cannot or will not maintain classroom discipline.
Noting that in-school suspension had been suggested as a means of meeting the State Standards of Quality (SOQ) mandates for alternative education, Charles Eldred asked when these mandates must be fulfilled.
"I suggest we get a court order right in the middle of this table" before complying with any mandates for inschool suspension, interjected Eastham, hitting the center of the library table with his hand.
