Also in its review of the budget recommended by superintendent William Bloomer for next year, the board failed to approve funds for a modular unit required to house a self-contained learning disabilities class. The board did, however, okay an appropriation for employing an additional instructor to teach the selfcontained LD class.
“Space constraints reduce the availability of alternative placements. There is a need for self-contained classes for learning disabled students,” according to findings of the administrative review team in late January.
