The three have been joined in the last five years with a fourth fixture at the Viewtown store. Peanuts, the Barrons’ hairless chihuahua might tip the scales at six pounds if she holds her breath and wears a heavy collar. Not the typical yappy and nervous miniature, she greets friends and strangers alike with a wag of her tiny tail.
Peanuts has her own circle of admirers at the store. “She likes most people although there are a few that she’ll bark at,” said Theodore. “But she just loves Clifford.”
To demonstrate, he plopped Peanuts on the floor for her first visit of the day with her old friend. She skittered around the counter to where Clifford was waiting on a customer and standing on her teeny little hind legs, pawed his pants cuff for attention.
“There you are!” cried Clifford as he swooped Peanuts up to her accustomed riding place, curled up in the palm of one hand. Later, Clifford moved to a chair next to the stove where he crooned to Peanuts as she smothered his hand with wet doggie kisses.
