Leaving Bath the group will journey through the Cotswold country of Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire to the City of Oxford. After a tour of the Oxford colleges, they will continue on to Stratfordupon-Avon, with stops at Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, and Edgehill, site of an important engagement of the English Civil War.

In addition to the sites associated with William Shakespear’s life, the visit to Stratford will include attendance at an evening performance of As You Like It at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. After a night at Royal Leamington Spa, the tour will head in the direction of the Lake District in northwestern England, stopping for a time at Warwick Castle and the old walled town of Chester.

After two days of rest and outdoor recreation at Lake Derwent near Windermere, the party will journey north to Scotland, stopping at Hadrian’s Wall near the Border and the home of Sir Walter Scott at Abbotsford. The two days spent in the Scottish capital will include visits to Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace and the Royal Scottish Museum.
