Lice!
According to Rappahannock's Health Department nurse, Frances Thornton, head lice are running rampant in the county, a real epidemic, she said. She advises all parents to examine the heads of their ehildren. and as well, adults should also be examined, for lice are easily carried from one person to another.
At the opening of school last year, lice posed a serious problem among students, and precautions and preventive steps should be taken now to eliminate this problem when schools open in a couple of weeks, advises Mrs. Thornton.
