Winchester was judged the best appearing and equipped rescue squad with Culpeper second; best ambulance, Orange and coming longest distance was Tuckahoe of Richmond. R. D. Burton of Falls Church with his 1928 Packard received a trophy for best appearing antique car and second was W. N. Olinger of Front Royal with a 39 Buick.
Susan Rudacille with South Warren was the best appearing honrary fire chief and the best comic entry was Shriner’s Blue Ridge Arson Squad and Chester Gap Hillbillies placed second. The Revengers of Martinsburg, W. Va. received best drum and baton corps award with Culpeper Pepperettes, second and Loudoun County, third.
