David Thornhill, 24, was unanimously endorsed as the new planning commission member after his nomination by Wood. A native of Rappahannock County, he graduated from Rappahannock County High School and VPI with a bachelor of science degree in animal science.
Thornhill and his wife Birgitt, the new VPI home agent here, live in Woodville. Thornhill manages a beef cattle farm at Boston and also rents additional property in Culpeper County, the almost 1.000 acre Freedom Studies Institute, where he raises com, hay and cattle.
