Mr. and Mrs. T. Morgan Johnston left for New York and the World’s Fair for four days. Mrs. Johnston won the free trip at the Washington Firemens carnival. $100 in spending money was also part of the prize.

C.G. Thornhill were
among the winners in the Culpeper Farm Show with their swine and Donna Cannon was a winner in the livestock show also. She showed the grand champion Angus steer and the grand champion steer of the entire show.
Title I summer school program was completed with excellent results. This included three weeks of readiness programs for some 75 pre-schoolers.
Miss Mildred Buckner Fletcher and George Nicholas Slater were married on the lawn at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Fletcher at Sperryville.
Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church held homecoming services and dinner on the grounds and a meeting of the Shiloh Baptist Association. The pies looked yummy.
