was unhurt when he
* crash landed in the Huntly area while spraying the cornfields of Flip Chadwell near Chester Gap. The pilot, Cecil Carthy. landed in the field of Bossy Williams. The plane was trucked back to Richmond after it was ascertained there was engine trouble. The spraying equipment was damaged also.
A self-appointed reception committee, a black and white member of the cat family greeted two ladies enroute to the Julia Haygood Missionary meeting in Flint Hill. The cat had generously showered its hospitality on the two ladies who had to return home and change clothes before joining the group. It is rumored their chairs were placed in an isolated section of the meeting room.
P. L. Thornton III and J. W. Brown were injured while riding a horse on the J. Rodes Brown farm. Lee had a broken arm and J.W. was rendered unconscious, but regained his composure shortly. The saddle girth broke causing the tumble.
J. J. Newberry in Culpeper was selling blue denim dungarees for SI.50 and SI .69, while Sherwin-Williams paint was S2.85 a gallon at Bradford’s Store in Flint Hill.
