In Rappahannock, cows without calves are valued at $350, cows with calves at $400, two-year-old steers at $350, yearling heifers at $250. yearling steers at $300. bulls at $450, registered bulls at $500. calves at $50. six-month-old heifers at $120 and six-month-old steers at $150.

Under this year’s rates and ratios, a Rappahannock farmer will pay $5.50 in personal property taxes on a registered bull while a farmer in Culpeper will pay $3.75 on the same bull and a farmer in Warren $1.25.

Of the six counties, only Fauquier has eliminated taxes on farm machinery but the others all charge less than Rappahannock.
