Adding a new twist to an old adage, Bertha and Stanley Williams of Chester Gap prove that the couple lhat sews together stays together. They’ve tightened the knot tied by the preacher with their joint interests in needlework —hers embroidery and his quilting. At 73, Stanley Williams has two steamer trunks and a wardrobe full of quilts he’s sewn. For most of the 40some quilts in his collection he’s added matching pillows that brighten the beds in the Williams' upstairs rooms.
