Operation Respect, a statewide coalition of sportsmen. recently denounced acts of vandalism by slob hunters in Nelson County as the type of activity that lends to give all sportsmen a bad name. According to WESTVACO, they threatened and harassed a company worker on company property, them disabled his vehicle. Nearby, somepn# shot up a caterpillar tractor and motor grader, ruining radiators and windows and causing an estimated $10,000 in damage.
"It is this type of senseless act by groups of hoodlums calling themselves hunters that gives the public their generally bad impression of sportsmen,” said Operation Respect Chairman Art Leggett.
