One of two farm ponds is drained every year and planted with millet for water fowl. Wood ducks, mallards and black ducks who make their homes on a center island and in custom-built houses around the banks migrate a few hundred yards to a second pond during the annual planting. They stay on this brood pond all summer, fed by Keim.
Blue bird houses, all occupied by bright colored tenants, are scattered around the fields.
