The Rappahannock Panthers never gave up Tuesday night when they suffered an 88-54 loss to the neighboring Fauquier Falcons at Rappahannock High School. The contest, pitted the A Panthers against an AAA Falcon squad.

After Panther Glen Fletcher dunkened in the first basket, Fauquier tied the score on a goal by Steve Heflin. After a quick steal. Falcon Elliot Nelson made it 4-2.

Carl Frye tied the score again for the Panthers, but Fauquier rallied for six consecutive baskets to take a commanding 16-4 lead. Fletcher added a point for Rappahannock on a free throw and Mike Leake made it 16-7 on two foul shots.

Baskets by each squad made it 18-9 and two free throws by Fauquier's Bruce Smith made it 20-9. With three seconds left in the first quarter, a Panther free throw
